Three Rivers Hare Krishna

Calling from deep in the heart, from where the eyes can’t see and the ears can’t hear, from where the mountain trails end and only love can go…
In India, one of the most holy pilgrimage places is in Allahabad, called Prayag or the Sangam. This is the spot of the Maha Kumbha Mela which is held every twelve years. It is where the three sacred rivers meet: the Ganges, the Yamuna and the Saraswati, which is an invisible river that flows from Heaven and comes up from underground. It is where the light waters of the Ganga and dark waters of the Yamuna embrace and millions of pilgrims come to have their sins washed away. While we were in Pittsburgh doing some recording for this CD, I was totally taken by the beauty of the city. All the old polluting steel mills have been closed and the sun was shining gold and bright on the green hills that rise above both sides of the two rivers that flow through there; the Allegheny and the Monongahela, which meet and form the Ohio river. That’s why they call the Stadium where the Steelers and Pirates play, “Three Rivers Stadium”. But as we were driving around town, Jim Donovan told me that there was another hidden river that ran under Pittsburgh. It blew me away and I realized that we been brought to Pittsburgh to receive the blessings of the Sangam of America!!!
