A sweet and intimate gathering in benefit of Hope Gateway Recovery with Krishna Das and Kirtan Wallah Foundation
As someone in recovery, I understand coming from nothing and slowly growing, and then continuing to give what we each freely received, so I just wanted to write and express my heartfelt appreciation for your gift of bringing the Portland recovery community together in heartfelt practice. It nourished my soul. ~ M.
HopeGateWay is a newly formed community of faith in the United Methodist tradition, growing from the roots of the former Chestnut Street United Methodist Church.
Today they are old and young, lifelong Mainers and new immigrants, gay and straight, and differently abled. We are “cradle Christians” and newly exploring faith – full of questions, sometimes skeptical, striving to be authentic. We are rethinking what it means to follow Christ – or considering this question for the first time. Together, in all our great diversity, filled with hope, we are striving to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with God.
Love Everyone, Serve Everyone, Remember God
